San Martín Texmelucan, to the northwest of the city of Puebla, is well known for the great textile market that on Tuesdays floods every corner of the city. However, there are many more attractions for tourists: the former hacienda of Polaxtla, with an interesting museum, or the former hacienda of Chautla, with large green areas around a lake presided by an English palace, where you can fish. A visit to the center of the town reveals the colonial ex-convent of Santa María Magdalena, with its beautiful Churrigueresque altarpiece.

To the north lies San Matías Tlalancaleca and state of Tlaxcala, to the south Huejotzingo, to the east the state of Tlaxcala, and to the west San Salvador el Verde.
