Conquered by Hernán Cortés, Tepeaca became one of the most important cities of the Camino Real to Veracruz. Located 43 km from Puebla, people from all over the region came to to this commercial city for the Friday market, which was assembled in the main square around the Torre del Rollo, where justice was imparted. To one side of the great square is the ex-convent of San Francisco, an authentic fortress. On the other side, the Parish, where the chapel of the Santo Niño Doctor is located, an image that attracts pilgrimages to this place.
