Tlayoyos Tlayoyos

Tlatlauquitepec, Zacapoaxtla, Tlacotepec de Benito Juárez


The pre-Hispanic Tlayoyo name means "bite the heart." It is produced in most of the state of Puebla, however according to the region are different fillings such as beans or alberjón. Accompanying cream, cheese and green or red sauce. It is traditional to find them for sale on the main square, although they also served in restaurants accompanying dishes like the Cecina.

Throughout the year  can be found in the municipal market, there are even places that serve the exclusive tlayoyos accompanied by salsa and cheese.
