Highlight

This small town located at 16 km from Atlixco on the slopes of Popocatepetl, retains its strong Nahuatl roots. At its highest point it´s located the ex-Convent of Nuestra Señora de la Asuncion, , a real fortress that can be visited. In the atrium are still preserved some “frescos” paintworks. In the vicinity still remain standing ancient aqueducts of the colonial era. It is traditional to celebrate the Day of the Dead.

BOUNDS

On the North to San Nicolas de Los Ranchos, on the south to Atzitzihuacan and Cohuecan, to the east to Tianguismanalco and Atlixco and on the west to the state of Morelos and the Popocatepetl volcano.
