Tochimilco

his small town located 16 km from Atlixco on the slopes of Popocatépetl retains a marked Nahuatl character. At its highest point is the Ex-convent of Our Lady of the Assumption, an authentic fortress that can be visited. Some frescoes are still preserved in the atrium. In the vicinity, old aqueducts of the colonial period remain standing. The celebration of the Day of the Dead is traditional.
